A GROUP FOR DATING & CHRONIC ILLNESS

Dating while managing a chronic Illness comes up often in my sessions with clients. Many people long to date but are not sure how to navigate dating with a chronic illness. This group serves to talk through these issues with others who are experiencing them too and find answers to the following questions:

  • where & how do I put myself out there?
  • when & how do I tell the person I am dating about my condition?
  • how do I explain some of my limitations without feeling like a burden?
  • how do I ask my partner about their STD history and protection?
  • do I put my medical condition on my dating profile?
  • having a medical condition makes me feel less than confident, will that change?
  • how can I feel more empowered sexually?
We are currently accepting group members! This group will be held via videoconferencing!  If you are interested, please contact me via telephone or through a submission on the “Contact me” page. Group will begin the second week of July. Exact days/times to follow.

PROCESS GROUP FOR YOUNG ADULTS LIVING WITH CHRONIC ILLNESS

YOUNG ADULTHOOD IS A DIFFICULT TIME.

At this time, we are learning so much about ourselves and who we want to be. We are working to understand what is important to us, what type of career suits us, if we want a partner in life, and if so, what does that look like in the long term etc. It is a difficult time.

CUE IN CHRONIC ILLNESS.

Young adults living with chronic illness have addition hurdles to jump just to feel normal. We are constantly playing from behind. We have to prioritize health over everything so career aspirations, friendships, relationships, and certain activities, may fall by the wayside.

This on-going process group serves as a space for other young adults living with chronic illness to discuss their difficulties, learn from one another, and connect with others who understand what it is like living with a chronic illness.

We are currently accepting group members! This group will be held via videoconferencing!  If you are interested, please contact me via telephone or through a submission on the “Contact me” page.
